Internships! Each Hospitality Major (HPM) and Tourism Major (TRM) will spend 1200 hours at 2 internships after or during his or her third and fourth years. (Each HTM student will spend 2,200 hours at 3 internships after each year of study.) This/These internships offer the student valuable experience. Further, the internship also begins the networking process within the industry, that is, making friends of people who will have friends at other hotels.
The Pros! Professionals from the many tourist venues, including 5-star hotels, international travel agencies and world-class restaurants are invited as guest lecturers for the semester or guest speakers to the classroom or at tourism forums held on campus. You can learn through "real-life" stories of adventures and misadventures of these professional hospitality and tourism experts.
